AFI presents inclusive green finance work at EIB central bank workshop
A short dispatch on a peer-learning event rather than a rulemaking. It covers what the Alliance for Financial Inclusion told an EIB workshop about how member central banks are folding climate risk and green finance into their mandates, and flags a new voluntary framework, the Port Moresby Compact, that sits behind the remarks.
- AFI's Johanan Nyman addressed the European Investment Bank's peer learning workshop for central banks in Luxembourg on 27 October 2026.
- The workshop brings together senior central bank representatives from Africa, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and the Western Balkans.
- The Central Bank of Egypt presented sustainable finance guidelines, mandatory reporting requirements, and environmental and social risk management frameworks.
- AFI has launched the Port Moresby Compact on Inclusive Green Finance, a voluntary, non-binding framework endorsed by AFI members and partners.
- The event was supported by Germany's BMUKN, Luxembourg's MECB, the European Commission, the NDC Partnership, the Climate Bonds Initiative and the NGFS.
