CFTC sets December 15 roundtable on 24/7 derivatives trading
The CFTC has announced a public roundtable to discuss whether and how derivatives markets should move toward continuous trading. The session follows an earlier request for comment and will bring industry participants together to address infrastructure, staffing and market integrity questions before any rule changes are considered.
- The CFTC will host the roundtable on December 15 at its Washington, D.C. headquarters.
- The event builds on a Request for Comment on 24/7 trading that the CFTC issued earlier in the summer.
- Topics will include overnight trading, tokenization, infrastructure and staffing needs, and operational readiness.
- The roundtable will be open to the public and livestreamed on CFTC.gov, though in-person attendance may be limited.
- Members of the public can submit speaker nominations by email, with agenda and registration details to follow.
